O PROJECTO
A Residência Artística UPCYCLES é uma iniciativa da Associação Amigos do Museu do Cinema em Moçambique, de incentivo à criação artística, à mobilidade e ao intercâmbio entre artistas emergentes dos PALOP.
Teve a 1.ª edição em 2019, 2.ª edição em 2021, 3ª ediçao em 2022 e 4.ª edição em 2024, com financiamento da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian,
Durante um período de 2 meses, num regime de desenvolvimento à distância, seguido de 10 dias intensivos de finalização e montagem, os participantes são orientados para a conceção e criação de obras multimédia que “reciclem” imagens do arquivo audiovisual destes países e proporcionem novas interpretações da História e da Memória, a elas associadas - criando novas narrativas.
O trabalho é acompanhado por uma tutora residente e artistas-curadores convidados, sempre com o apoio técnico e experiência da equipa do projecto Museu do Cinema.
Os últimos dias do programa são dedicados, exclusivamente, à montagem e inauguração pública da exposição, no espaço da Fortaleza de Maputo.
THE PROJECT
The UPCYCLES Artistic Residency is an initiative of the Associação Amigos do Museu do Cinema (Mozambique to encourage artistic creation, mobility and exchange between emerging artists from the PALOP.
It had the 1st edition in 2019, 2nd edition in 2021, 3rd edition in 2022 and 4th edition in 2024., all funded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
During a period of 2 months, in a distance development regime, followed by 10 intensive days of finalization and assembly, participants will be guided to the design and creation of multimedia works that “recycle” images from the audiovisual archive of these countries and provide new interpretations of History and Memory, associated with them, creating new narratives.
The work will be monitored by the resident tutor and invites artists-curators, always with the technical support and experience of the Museu do Cinema project.
The last days of the program are dedicated exclusively to setting up an exhibition and its public opening, in the Maputo Fortress.
